YLM90K - Executive Director, REMS Business Strategy and Operations

 

Brief Description:  

Provide leadership to REMS Strategy, Development and Operations. This role is a critical contributor to the growth of UBC, reporting to the SVP, Global Safety, REMS and Strategic Engagement. This role applies extensive expertise and in-depth knowledge to guide the strategy, implementation and client management initiatives related to complex risk management programs.  

 

Specific job duties: 

  • Provide leadership for REMS Business Strategy, Design, Build and Operations.
  • Provide input into proposals and management/oversight activities.
  • Advise on work orders, change orders, master service agreements and other contract related documents.
  • Develop proposal templates and internal budget grids customized for risk management programs. 
  • Monitor REMS programs on an ongoing basis to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Provide input into annual plans for REMS Business Segment to ensure growth in market presence, revenue, sales and marketing.
  • Lead initiatives across REMS and collaborate with Business Development leadership in the development of strategy to ensure growth and success of the overall business.
  • Support sales process including: ongoing client relationship management, lead efforts to ensure proposal content is in line with client requests, direct liaison for REMS Operations leadership, coordinating with UBC Executive Leadership for final strategies on opportunities
  • Actively engage as a leader in client interfacing activities, identifying, and participating in conferences and public forum presentations to promote UBC capabilities (including presenting UBC capabilities to potential clients at bid defenses).
  • Evaluate client requests for proposals and support proposal preparation.
  • Prepare assigned Project Directors for client bid defenses.
  • Actively promote cross selling of broad range of UBC products and services. 
  • Evaluate and determine appropriate resources to assign to project teams. 
  • Establish and track department wide metrics for key REMS activities.
  • Perform financial analysis and tracking of study budgets as well as department budgets.
  • Ensure project financial plans are developed and tracked by project teams.
  • Participate in annual creation of budget and track budget variances with the assistance of the senior finance contact on a month-by-month basis.
  • Assist with and/or lead integration planning of UBC acquisitions. 
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to continually maintain and enhance the service experience, leveraging data and insights to prioritize areas of underperformance, to ensure continual improvement through re-engineering processes to meet KPIs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to determine KPIs and areas of opportunity to improve the service experience and/or, operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to develop and maintain trusted partnerships including the ability to work with teams and individuals of many technical skill levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates excellent understanding of REMS 
  • Experience in pricing/proposal models and application to staffing requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience at increasing levels of project management or oversight responsibilities including prior responsibilities at the department level
