The Job
The IT Support Officer provides technical support to the internal organisation. You are responsible for setting up, troubleshooting and escalating any issues that come up with soft- and hardware within the organisation.
Your main tasks will be:
- You install and configure laptops and other hardware that is used in the organisation. You make sure the required updates are available and advise on and support with installation. You give employees access to accounts that are relevant to them and remove their access when they leave the organisation.
- You help employees to resolve technical issues by providing phone and long-distance support. You escalate issues you cannot resolve, and you are the point of contact with supplier support. You keep logs of support questions and how they are resolved.
- You maintain the stocks of hardware in the organisation, keeping the balance between availability and cost. You are responsible for the software licenses the organisation has and work with the procurement department to make sure we buy high quality against competitive prices. You keep a full overview of IT assets and licenses in the organisation.
About You
The right person for the role will be an empathetic communicator, skilled in resolving issues. You are capable of logical and practical troubleshooting, with a keen eye for detail to ensure thorough resolution of tasks. You demonstrate strong organizational skills, excelling in managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.
- At least 4 years of experience working within an IT Support team.
- Proficient in setting standards for hardware requirements, maintenance, and replacement of assets.
- Knowledgeable in Google Workspace (Professional Google Workspace Administrator certification is a plus).
- Skilled in using remote monitoring administration tools (e.g., NinjaOne, Pulseway).
- Strong experience in NetSuite administration (mandatory).
- You are currently currently based in South Africa (mandatory).
