Project Description:
The client is seeking a resource to review the vendors, products and services spent in the telecommunications portfolio. The telecom landscape has increased in complexity and technologies and vendor offerings have changed over the years. This expertise is required to not only identify cost savings under current telecom agreements, but also in preparation for new negotiations. Successful candidates are experienced professionals with expertise in telecommunications and strong analytical skills.
Services Required:
· Collaborate with PDHIS Communications Technology team to assess and plan future communication technology system needs.
· Conduct a thorough evaluation of the current voice and data network products and services within the environment, identifying opportunities for cost savings and make recommendations to improve or enhance service packages
· Stay updated with the latest developments in VoIP and mobile technologies, on new transport protocols, methods, products, and standards in support of VoIP systems development and equipment procurement.
· Collaborate with PDHIS Communications Technology and FinOps teams to implement accurate cost tracking
· Support the Business Management team to develop dashboards and prepare metrics for executive reporting
· Participate in telecommunications operating plan management, ensuring correct billing and invoice processing for telecommunication services
· Identify gaps in vendor billing and consumption data and analyze spend by vendor
· Navigate telecom marketplace landscape and scan for opportunities
· Research and recommend cost-effective telecommunications hardware systems and software packages from all telecom vendors.
· Identifies communications technology cost-control measures and improvements; implements changes and/or makes recommendations to management.
· Develop and maintain up-to-date inventory of telecommunication products and services, standardizing taxonomy, communication and reporting.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the telecom environment and operational procedures.
· Create and update policies, procedures, and standards.
· Work with vendors and external partners where applicable. This includes phone number porting, call forwarding, account management and inquiries
· Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future communications technology network and system needs.
· Deploy practices and tools to ensure best value from communications technology agreements
· Align vendor spending and performance to business priorities
Specific Qualifications or Experience Required:
· 10+ years’ experience working in IT
· 8+ years’ experience working as a telecommunications specialist
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to produce concise, structured and well written documents and reports
· Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast paced priority driven environment
· Exceptional level of professionalism; personable, approachable, courteous
· Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail including an awareness of downstream effects of actions
· Ability to work independently to meet deliverables and solve problems
· Self-starter, proactive and solution oriented
· Ability to adapt to change and tolerate high stress levels
· Demonstrated experience working on account optimization
