Position Summary: 

The Data Analyst serves internal customers by preparing multi-dimensional analyses and visualization with particularly large sets of data, to support business intelligence. Navigates and manipulates multiple and sometimes disparate data sources, creates reliable and standardized reporting, and balances competing needs. Leverages analytical skill sets to research and make recommendations on clinical and non-clinical analytical needs, and supports operational reporting across the organization. Provides analytical support for large project work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or other technical concentration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant technical, analytical, or statistical role or equivalent
  • EPIC certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred

  • Masters Degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or other technical concentration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant technical, analytical, or statistical role or equivalent
  • Knowledge of healthcare data and EHR data experience

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Assists in identification, capture, and integration of source data into the enterprise data warehouse and quality assurance of data to ensure consistently accurate and reliable data.
  • Assists with data quality issues and work with colleagues to understand, document and correct identified issues.
  • Supports established core metrics and KPI measurement in accordance with the objectives of Executive Leadership and the Data Analytics organization.
  • Delivers ad-hoc data requests from business users building self-service reports when applicable to help reduce the need for these requests and foster a more data democratized environment.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of all reporting and analyses working with your teammates when necessary.
  • Independently query datasets to create analysis and reports from multiple primary and ancillary sources.
  • Provides data to facilitate analyses for organizational performance and assist in providing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining exceptional results.
  • Creates new methods of analyzing, organizing and distributing data to customer audiences.
  • Leads the education and adoption of data analysis efforts for colleagues and data critical thinking users.
  • Participates in data governance and data literacy education and facilitation efforts across the organization.
  • Leverages available training and educational resources coupled with self-motivated initiative to grow skills.

Schedule Requirements

  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
