Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

The ideal Manager, Royalties and Rebates has Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or payments industry experience in an international company working with large data sets and multiple currencies. The Manager, Royalties and Rebates will be responsible for ensuring all client royalties and rebates are calculated and processed timely and accurately, coordinating with various cross-functional stakeholders and clients to ensure any changes are captured.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead a team of accounting analysts and establish effective royalty and rebate processes to ensure timely and accurate calculation and processing of client royalties and rebates
  • Transition the client royalty and rebate processes to India from the current US-based team, ensuring thorough training and transition while producing high-quality work product on a tight timeline
  • Coordinate with Client Success, Revenue Operations, Corporate Applications, Sales, Accounting, and Payment Operations teams to oversee the calculation and processing of client royalties and rebates, using Power BI, Excel, and Stripe, among other systems, to complete the requests
  • Ensure the team is adequately resourced and trained for new rebates/royalties; ensure SLAs are met with thorough cross-training and contingency/coverage plans
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and champion automation to ensure the royalty and rebate processes are as scalable as possible, to support the growth of the business in an efficient manner
  • Assist the GL Accounting team with month-end accruals for incurred but not remitted royalties and rebates
  • Maintain positive client interactions and excellent customer service, answering any questions and making adjustments as required to royalty and rebate processes to deliver high-quality work product
  • Provide audit support for royalties and rebates, as required for annual US GAAP or statutory audits
  • Develop team members to help them meet their career goals

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years’ supervising/managing a high-functioning team for a global company
  • Experience working with large data sets in Excel and/or other data tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with customers
  • Experience establishing effective processes and/or improving processes
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles per US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with indirect taxes (VAT, GST, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including at least intermediate Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make sound decisions and take calculated risks

AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE:

  • Workday ERP experience
  • Experience understanding automation and/or data tools and working with developers to eliminate manual work using systems and/or automation
  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or related field
  • Experience with payment processing and/or software-as-a-service industries
  • Mergers & Acquisitions experience
  • Private equity background
