Job description

Job Description:

Responsible for the coaching and technical case review for Underwriters participating in our ULTRA program. The lead mentor will assist in the development of an Underwriter to be proficient at their job and demonstrate the necessary skills to manage their Renewal and Presale opportunities effectively and independently. The lead mentor is to partner with the trainee for the duration of the training program and provide technical assistance, coaching, and feedback when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an important first connection at Cigna for our new hires and will be trained on  coaching and leading to ensure best experience for the new hires

  • Be the onboarding leads in each hub to ensure correct and timely system access as well as serve as lead in initial onboarding efforts

  • Attend staff meetings for each hub as well as stay current with underwriting policies and procedures.

  • Be responsible for technical case review including all tools, training support, case sample support, etc.

  • Perform as subject matter expert for P&P content and guidance directly related to underwriting specific processes.

  • Assist with Virtual Training needs i.e. logistics, equipment deployment, room setup, etc.

  • Attend mandatory trainer-led mentor meetings

  • Ensure appropriate Underwriting process and tool compliance

  • Assist with case selection and trainee preparation for critique panel discussions.

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the training materials in collaboration with the training team

  • Prepare trainee for conference calls and participate (when appropriate) on conference calls with Sales.

  • Provide timely feedback on trainee’s performance to trainee and Manager.

  • Be responsible for setting guidance for trainee as it pertains to case work, tool usage, and technical case discussions.

  • Assist in market level pricing strategy, in collaboration with the local market team.

  • Embrace innovative process and technology solutions to address ever-growing and changing training needs for the Underwriting organization

  • Work to enhance UW knowledge in areas where proficiency is not technically proficient

Qualifications:
