Purchasing Specialist - Contract - Kalamazoo, MI (Remote)
DISHER is currently looking for a Remote Procurement Specialist to join our contract engineering team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in purchasing and procurement to manage and optimize supply chain processes for a medical device company based out of Kalamazoo, MI. You will also utilize your project management skills to lead and coordinate various procurement projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
What you will get to do:
Review new part specifications and advise on procurement feasibility
Perform payback analysis and other justifications to support purchasing and investment projects
Improve and support new and existing procurement operations, methods, and processes for cost reduction, quality, and efficiency improvements
Conduct studies in purchasing operations to maximize workflow
Create cost comparisons and return on investment calculations to assist in supplier selection and purchasing decisions
What Will Make You Successful
Experience working with medical device assembly, production, and various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, or machining
Previous experience within purchasing or procurement for manufacturing
Exposure to project management and ability to autonomously operate in your role
Ability to accurately forecast costs and needs before they arise
