The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with lots of opportunities for learning and professional development. The Senior Accountant will play a key role within the Finance team leading reporting and month-end preparation.  This is an exciting opportunity to build the foundational processes for a growing business.  In addition, there is an opportunity to partner with the business, understand the business model and be a financial business partner.  

Who You Are

  • 3-4 years of related accounting or financial analysis experience required
  • Professional accounting designation CPA or equivalent is required
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Understanding of ERP and/or financial systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in retail, wholesale, ecommerce, logistics an asset

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting: 

  • Prepare financial reporting including month-end, quarter end and year-end financial statements and analysis
  • Perform complex analysis of financial results and present insights to internal business stakeholders
  • Develop strong understanding of financial forecast and perform meaningful variance analysis

Controls and Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Play a lead role in the financial audit, review and quarterly review
  • Perform IFRS technical research and prepare technical memos
  • Prepare audit and tax working papers and analysis as requested
  • Develop internal control documentation, identify gaps and remediation plans

People & Technology: 

  • Develop an in depth understanding of the financial system and become an expert on configuration and financial reports
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities including automation, RPA
  • Work collaboratively with the business to identify process improvements

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between $75,000 and $85,000 depending on experience. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. We offer a comprehensive range of benefits which includes:
