Role Description

This position is responsible for the full cycle accounting for their respective entities to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial information to the parent company, Republix Platform Technologies. This position will report to the Controller and indirectly to the district Vice President. The position will be responsible for the AP and AR functions, commodity tax compliance, complete monthly financial closing, and cash projection along with data security.

Job Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial disbursements, and intercompany transactions.
Responsible for the month and year-end closing process.
Analyse, reconcile, and process balance sheet accounts and prepare the relevant journal entries for month and year-end.
Review and verify outgoing payments to vendors and get necessary approvals.
Prepare year-end audit work papers and support preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with ASPE
Provide support for any tax and financial reporting issues including research and proposed solutions
In conjunction with the Controller, assist in the preparation and presentation of monthly management reports.
Assist in budgeting & forecasting function and provide variance analysis to stakeholders.
Ensure timely submission of all government tax filings including Canadian and international sales tax, payroll, and other international filings.
Preparation of year-end tax files and assist in the filing of corporate tax returns
Prepare daily/weekly cash flow statements with accurate projections.
Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems and processes.
Provide analytical information and ad hoc support as requested

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field required
Must possess a minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience
Must possess a minimum of 4 years of Public Accounting Audit experience in an audit firm.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and familiar with QBO
Prior experience in public accounting is required
CPA designation or significant progress toward completion of program is an asset

Advanced experience using accounting software and understanding of ASPE
Knowledge of IFRS is an asset
