Job description

At Anaplan, we are a team of innovators who are focused on optimizing business decision-making through our leading scenario planning and analysis platform so our customers can outpace their competition and the market.

What unites Anaplanners across teams and geographies is our collective commitment to our customers’ success and to our Winning Culture.

Our customers rank among the who’s who in the Fortune 50. Coca-Cola, LinkedIn, Adobe, LVMH and Bayer are just a few of the 2,400+ global companies that rely on our best-in-class platform.

Our Winning Culture is the engine that drives our teams of innovators. We champion diversity of thought and ideas, we behave like leaders regardless of title, we are committed to achieving ambitious goals and we have fun celebrating our wins.

Supported by operating principles of being strategy-led, values-based and disciplined in execution, you’ll be inspired, connected, developed and rewarded here. Everything that makes you unique is welcome; join us and be your best self!

Reporting to the VP, IT, you will build and lead a team of IT business data and process analysts to design and maintain durable, scalable data analytics processes and reporting tools that support data-driven operations spanning all of Anaplan’s IT departments.

This role supports corporate functions: IT Engineering/Infrastructure, IT Customer Experience, IT Enterprise Apps (ServiceNow, Workday), IT Integrations, and GTM/Revenue Apps(Salesforce). The team will span, support, and enable IT leaders and teams across 3 global regions to drive, track, and manage data-driven operational and business KPIs and identify improvement opportunities across Anaplan’s user support processes that help to maintain platform integrity.

The nature of this unique role demands high-energy, outgoing, positive, roll-up-your-sleeves, and can-do personality.  As a connector/impact leader with a driving desire to identify, learn, document, and report on new metrics, business processes, IT systems and technology in support of a SaaS category leading tech company, you’re a passionate initiative leader, needing relatively little guidance on objectives and outcomes, and you’re off to the races to make it happen.

You’re a diplomat with a multi-level view on optics and an articulate communicator who fearlessly dives into building great relationships with Anaplan’s IT leaders and all its corporate business partners (HR, Legal, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Executives) in order to build the highest standard of data driven IT operations dashboards and presentations catering to every audience, from IT technology leaders to senior and executive management.

You’re a keen visual process thinker who can interview different personalities and translate data, metrics, and process into insightful and meaningful visualizations aligned to the company’s business roadmap, risks and business impact, whether in Powerpoint, Tableau, Lucidchart, Excel, or even Anaplan’s own connected planning platform (modeling).

As the Senior Manager, IT Corporate Data Analytics, you’ll also be the primary sponsor for our ServiceNow’s IT Asset Mgmt (ITAM) and IT Operations Mgmt rollouts, working with IT Infrastructure and Customer Experience leaders and engineers to build a data driven understanding of our corporate software, entitlements, technical oversight and spend rationalization towards automated license reclamation and ultimately, self-service software.

The broad charter and latitude of this role’s coverage makes it an exciting skill uplift for a motivated up and coming technical leader from almost any angle. You’ll learn the ins and outs of Anaplan’s IT corporate coverage, all of its business functions, playbooks, and leaders, and build a meaningful team of SMEs driving technical data ops tracking and standards that translate to all levels of the company (high profile).

Your Impact

  • Coordinate with senior business partners throughout Anaplan to identify and track ongoing data & analytics priorities; provide prioritization guidance to team members when needed.
  • Drive data analysis projects and identify opportunities for improving user experience and organizational efficiency in the Safety, Identity and Actioning business areas
  • Provide data-driven methods to evaluate the impact of changes in product features, service models and support operations
  • Recommend and guide team to optimize queries, dashboards, data tables, automation pipelines, and other analytic processes
  • Lead team resource planning; conduct hiring, training and mentoring of team members to facilitate team success
  • Note: this role will manage a globally distributed team, with direct reports in the United States, Brazil, Netherlands, and India. The majority of stakeholders for the role are in North America with additional stakeholders in other regions.

Your Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar role, with 1-2 years as an individual contributor in these areas
  • Data management experience including knowledge of data RACI, data lineage, sovereignty, localization, security, and data privacy
  • 2+ years experience managing a team, including demonstrated coaching experience
  • BA/BS/Masters in Economics, Business, Engineering, Operations Research, or other quantitative focus (or equivalent work experience)
  • Basic proficiency with SQL queries
  • High-functioning data visualizer techniques and tools (e.g. Tableau, Excel / Google Sheets, PowerBI, Anaplan, Lucidchart, Powerpoint or similar tools)
  • Presenting to middle, senior, and C-suite management.
  • Comfortable leading a team autonomously with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment; able to adaptively shift strategy and tactics as business priorities change and communicate that to teams and partners
  • Exceptional business acumen and experience leading high-visibility projects and influencing others in a cross-functional team environment

Nice to Haves

  • 5+ years leading teams of technical engineers
  • 3+ year of experience managing managers
  • MBA or other relevant post-graduate degree
  • Excellent communication skills
