Job description

VicRoads RLS, founded in August 2022 by a consortium of Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust, Macquarie Asset Management, and the Victorian State Government, operates under a long term concession deed issued by the State Government. We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfil regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety 

  • Annual Salary Range: $92,332 - $104,762
  • Employment Type: Full Time / Ongoing  
  • Usual Work Location: 180 Lonsdale Street/ Work from home (flexible working arrangement)

About the Opportunity

The Assistant Company Secretary will support the Company Secretary with uplift and continuous improvement in the effectiveness of Board and Committee reporting. You will further support the Company Secretary to ensure the VicRoads companies meet their corporate compliance and reporting requirements and contribute to corporate, secretariate and executive support to the Board and Senior management.  In addition, you will support the Company Secretary in ensuring the reporting requirements for the organisations’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy are met. 

About you

The skills and experience required in the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Experience as an assistant Company Secretary, Board Secretary, legal support officer or similar profession.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills and the ability to collaborate at all levels including liaising with Board members.
  • Sound understanding of compliance and governance principles, corporations law, reporting requirements and compliance systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in governance, law or a related discipline.
