Role title: Area Sales Manager (Insurance)

Location: Remote (UK Based)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Salary: £60k On-target earnings (OTE)

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • You will have meaningful conversations with multiple prospect stakeholders in order to understand the nature of their business so we can align suitable insurance options along with our value proposition as a broker.
  • You will work to understand the potentially complex dynamics of a prospect’s current or potential insurance supply chain in order to obtain information we need to either provide a competitive quote or to close a sale.
  • We will give you leads who are customers of other divisions within Radius, with a view to gathering the prospect’s needs and requirements and obtaining insurance quotations for them. You may also do some cold calling to reach additional leads.
  • You will be responsible for managing your sales pipeline (with our support and training, including using Salesforce CRM) and learn to review your performance through the sales cycle. We will give you full training and support to help you meet and exceed your sales targets.
  • You will also be responsible for an element of account management and will have the opportunity to build a book of business.


The experience and skills that we are looking for include:

  • Great communication skills and the initiative to ask the right questions, think flexibly and develop rapport over the phone and in person with key decision makers.
  • A willingness to work toward stretching targets and rise to a challenge for uncapped financial rewards.
  • Enthusiasm for developing your existing skills and learning about our suite of products and services to add value to your conversations.
  • Organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, as you will be monitoring and managing your sales pipeline and obtaining accurate, in-depth information from and about your prospects.
  • An understanding of fleet and commercial insurance is essential.
  • Previous field sales experience in any sector would be beneficial to your success in the role.
  • Have a background as a commercial insurance sales executive working with senior stakeholders in larger SMEs or corporate business.

  • PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: We can support you in studying for professional qualifications if you choose, including Association of Professional Sales (APS) accreditation, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate or other types of training depending on your level of education and current qualifications.
