Job Title: Director of Federal Compliance and Reporting

Department: Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Compliance

Reports To: Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Compliance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (extended hours when requested).

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Job Summary

The Director of Federal Compliance and Reporting is responsible for reporting all mandated data to federal agencies as required. This position is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting large quantities of data and making recommendations to VP IEPC based on this data. Additionally, this position uses data to support decision-making and to meet internal and external requests and public relations needs.

Essential Job Tasks Additional Duties May Be Assigned.

  • Collects, manages, and analyzes data to meet internal and external requests and to meet federal regulatory and compliance reporting and public relations needs of the University.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports institutional data and conducts research on specific topics that will assist in institutional decision-making.
  • Coordinates reporting and verifies institutional data for the Integrated Postsecondary Education System (IPEDS), Gainful Employment (ED), and Veterans Administration (85/15) as required.
  • Coordinates with Director of Institutional Surveys and Research on required data for IPEDS.
  • Serves as the institution’s Title IX coordinator, holds regular Title IX Committee meetings, and conducts annual Title IX trainings.
  • Serves as the liaison to Business Intelligence regarding federal compliance.
  • Serves as the liaison to Department of Financial Aid regarding federal compliance.
  • Coordinates with Director of State Authorization and Compliance to ensure accuracy of the content on University’s Consumer Information webpage.
  • Supports state licensure, compliance, accreditation, and US Department of Education data and compliance initiatives.
  • Creates and displays numeric and graphical data to stakeholders.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree required
  • Experience in higher education institutions required.
  • Experience with federal higher education compliance required; experience with Title IX preferred.
  • Data review, reporting, and analysis experience required. At least three years of experience preferred.


Equipment Used

  • Office equipment including computers, telephones, printers, faxes, and copiers.
  • Software used includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Blackboard, statistical software, and internal database software.
  • Secure and reliable internet is required for this position.


Work Environment

Works primarily within a climate-controlled environment within an office setting mostly sedentary with frequent sitting, occasional walking and lifting, and frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Noise level is generally moderate.

When working in a remote capacity, it is expected to design your own personal work environment with an understanding that periodic travel to work on-site will be required. Required to be available via remote access and/or technology during working hours.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
