As an Intermediate Environmental Project Manager, you will join our Air Permitting and Compliance (Air P&C) team in our Environmental Sciences and Planning service line.

The successful applicant will have a primarily office-based role, with the flexibility to work remotely, and will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

  • Actively participate in and promote Montrose’s strong safety culture.

  • Support simple to moderately complex Air P&C projects.

  • Ensure effective internal communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality products that meet our clients’ unique project needs.

  • Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

  • Coordinate with internal project teams across various disciplines, including engineers, environmental scientists, technicians, physicists, and chemists.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders.

  • Manage client communications and expectations.

  • Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates.

  • Contribute to the success of a collaborative team and function effectively within it.

  • Proactively engage in development opportunities to support your career growth.

  • Mentor and develop junior staff members.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of previous project management experience.

  • Project management experience in air quality consulting is considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with Workday software is an asset.

  • Proven experience in managing client relationships.

  • Eligibility for registration in or membership in good standing with a professional organization is considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with preparing work plans, cost estimates, and scopes of work.

  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to prioritize effectively.

  • Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to junior professionals.

  • A valid and clean Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license with no restrictions.
