Responsibilities

We are looking to add a Technical Project Manager to our team of talented professionals.

What you'll do:

In the Developer Role (75%):

  • Designs, codes, unit tests, and debugs enhancements to the health claims processing system.
  • Participates as a member of a persistent Agile development team.
  • Completes development to implement complex components.
  • Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Participates in design activities.
  • Designs, prepares and executes unit tests.
  • Contributes to strategic direction for teams.
  • Applies technical knowledge to provide maintenance solutions across one or more technology areas.
  • Applies company and 3rd party technologies to complex software solutions of moderate complexity.
  • Implements end-user or enterprise solutions of moderate complexity.
  • Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for clients.
  • Consults with team members and other organizations, clients and vendors on complex issues.
  • Provides time / resource estimates for assigned projects.
  • May assist in developing innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems in areas of proven expertise.

In the Supervisor Role (25%):

  • Lead and manage a team of about 6 developers
  • Meet monthly with team members to provide coaching and to hear any concerns
  • Participate in hiring activities when needed
  • Work with new team members to onboard them to the MCS team
  • Manage Team Member access requests
  • Manage Team Member OOO requests
  • Monitor Team Member completion of required training
  • Monitor and approve Team Members' Deltek time entry
  • Participate in periodic team member reviews including the annual review process
  • Participate in compensation planning

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and 6 years of experience
  • US Citizenship is required

Developer Role Specific Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) at a level appropriate for customer and CMS interaction and visibility
  • Experience working with CMS staff
  • Strong team player
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence and deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Highly skilled in TSO/ISPF and other Mainframe tools including Cobol, ALC, JCL, Procs, Endevor, GitHub, IDz, NDM, VSAM, and CICS.
  • Subject Matter Expert knowledge level of the MCS claims processing systems
  • May perform as a project lead with the responsibility for the instruction, direction, and monitoring of the performance of assigned resources working on an individual/specific project.
  • Proficiency with Agile and Scrum methodologies in software development using Jira and Confluence
  • Proficient at MSOffice (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Supervisor Role Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of general administrative (people care) support to direct staff.
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to participate in Peraton hiring activities including job posting, interviewing, and selecting candidates in line with corporate procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to support acclimation activities for new staff; willingness to develop and assign mentoring agreements.
  • Ability to execute performance management activities: monitoring performance, providing feedback and coaching to staff, participate in feedback sessions at project close-down or as needed.
  • Ability to identify and correct substandard performance, including assisting with Performance Improvement Plans as approved by Peraton HR and termination of staff for non-performance.
  • Strict adherence to all time recording, reporting, and approvals by effectively managing time recording activities for team members.
  • Willingness to learn and develop proficient use of various systems such as Workday, Deltek, Beeline, HRDatabase, iCIMS and CMS designated tools

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
