Job Overview

Join VIQ Solutions, a pioneer in the transcription services industry, as we embrace the evolving demands of legal and judicial agencies transitioning to a technology-driven workflow. We are seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract professionals proficient in transcribing depositions and hearings. This role offers the flexibility of 100% remote work for Independent Contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe audio recordings of depositions, hearings, and various judicial proceedings.
  • Maintain a keen attention to detail while producing verbatim transcripts in adherence to client-specific style guides.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated in-office team to receive support and guidance as needed.
  • Effectively manage your own schedule and meet strict deadlines.
  • Process audio content that may contain sensitive or challenging material.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription.
  • Exceptional listening capabilities and a strong command of grammar and literacy.
  • Ability to deliver work on time and follow client-specific style guidelines.
  • Proficiency in typing, encompassing both speed and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Willingness to process extreme audio/text content (some material may be offensive).
  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check.
  • Court reporting students are also welcomed to apply.
