Harvard Business Publishing’s Corporate Learning division targets enterprises that recognize leadership development as a source of competitive advantage. The Corporate Learning (CL) team’s expertise is in creating rich, interactive learning experiences that develop leaders who shape their organizations’ futures by making smart decisions at critical moments.

The Senior Enablement Manager (SEM) is a member of the Corporate Learning (CL) division of Harvard Business School Publishing and reports to the Director, Strategic Change and Enablement. He/She will partner with Senior CL Leaders throughout Corporate Learning to ensure our go to market planning is strategically positioned for the teams across CL and that these teams are fully equipped to extend the reach of current solutions to our clients. This role will play a key role in defining and developing their enablement activities in alignment with the HBP and Corporate Learning Strategies. This role brings advanced knowledge and experience in creating and deploying impactful learning initiatives and the ability to drive change in thinking and behaviors.  

They will be measuring and enhancing the performance and effectiveness of our teams taking a consultative approach. Orchestrating with cross-functional leaders, engaging in meaningful business and development conversations They are viewed by internal stakeholders as thought leaders in learning, and are sought after for advice and perspective on tested strategies for effective learning and driving change.   

What you’ll do:

 Enablement:

  • Leverages deep business acumen and knowledge of learning (competition, learning trends, learning technology and learning design) to lead business conversations with colleagues
  • Works closely with Marketing and Product Management to ensure that our go to market plans are cohesive, effective and align with HBP and CL strategy
  • Is responsible for enabling the client-facing teams on all new processes in CL
  • Is responsible for ensuring our teams stay abreast of product updates and enhancements, critical issues, communications, refresher classes, etc
  • Deal well with ambiguity and creates clarity to move a strategy and projects forward
  • Works in a team environment to deliver exceptional value to internal clients

  Thought Leadership: 

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships throughout all levels of the organization
  • High competency with strong oral and verbal communication, excellent time management, planning process and project management, effective decision making, results-oriented, ability to work under pressure
  • Highly collaborative and uses an enterprise mindset

  Learning and Development:

  • Prepares new employees by designing and executing functional onboarding for Client-facing roles across CL; equipping managers as the onboarding partners with the tools need to support new hires; managing and improving the CL onboarding process.
  • Equips members of CL CET by developing learning programs and enablement that helps them position and extend HBPs reach in the marketplace through:
    • Determining needs
    • Differentiating HBP
    • Architecting learning solutions in line with CL strategy
    • Measuring the learning solutions for effectiveness
  • Leverages the ADKAR change model to ensure leaders are coaching their teams and managing through change resistance
  • Is responsible for designing, developing and executing all training for client-facing teams on all new offerings from CL
  • Is responsible for identifying critical capability gaps and designing developmental learning experiences to close them.  Examples include:
    • Strategic account management (RMs, PLPs, DLSs)
    • Negotiation
    • Thought leadership for RMs and PLPs
    • Upskilling on Product knowledge
  • Continue to improve by developing new approaches and techniques; making support readily available; integrating support with routine job functions
  • Supporting financial objectives by recommending budget items; controlling costs

What you’ll bring: 

  • 5 + years designing and delivering learning development programs
  • 7+ years delivering consulting and professional services for complex learning solutions and/or working in a learning and development organization
  • Broad-based knowledge of Learning and Development
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with collaboration and team leadership abilities
  • Innovative, flexible and client focused approach to consulting
  • Strong business and financial acumen combined with a sense of urgency and a desire to achieve top line results
  • Ability to measure and articulate key outcomes that impact the business
  • Comfortable and effective in a consultative selling environment and with ambiguity

Above is the annualized pay range for this position. In addition, this position includes the opportunity to earn our annual Performance Based Variable Pay Program. Actual salary will be set based upon a range of factors, including external benchmark market data, individual knowledge, skills, experience, location and internal equity.
