Your Role and Impact
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Leader (BDL) to lead our public sector business development team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive growth and make a meaningful impact in the water and environmental sectors.
In this leadership role, you will identify new growth opportunities, build strategic relationships, and ensure our goals for sales, market position, and client satisfaction are met. You'll play a critical part in executing a market-focused approach, leveraging our team's expertise to create value for our clients.
You will also be a key player in shaping organizational change and decision-making while promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Lead and cultivate relationships with key public sector stakeholders, including industry leaders, potential clients, and government entities.
- Market Leadership: Develop and implement market strategies that highlight our strengths and offerings within the public sector.
- Achieve Sales Goals: Set and achieve sales targets, revenue growth, and profitability through effective leadership and management of the business development team.
- Stay Informed: Stay current on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes.
- Drive Innovation: Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative service offerings.
- Promote Sustainability: Champion environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, practice leaders, and senior management to align efforts with overall company goals.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams in business development, particularly in the public sector.
- Proven success in developing and executing growth strategies in the water and environmental services industry.
- Strong client service mindset with the ability to understand and address client needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a talent for influencing and building relationships.
- Ability to lead teams to success while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Experience managing sales strategies, achieving targets within the public sector.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
Compensation Range
\(180,000 - \)250,000 per year, depending on location, skills, and experience.
Examples of pay by location:
- Portland, ME: \(190,000 - \)200,000
- Pittsburgh, PA: \(200,000 - \)210,000
- Rye Brook, NY: \(210,000 - \)250,000
