Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin (Alliance) is a part of the Children’s Wisconsin Community Health and Education team and manages initiatives focused on improving the health of children.  The Emergency Medical Services for Children Program Manager works collaboratively as a member of the Alliance’s emergency care initiative to effectively manage all programs prescribed in emergency care work plans and contractual agreements. The primary role of the program manager includes working with a diverse group of partners to oversee Children with Special Health Care Needs Preparedness for Emergencies and Pediatric Readiness programs. Responsibilities will include coordination of technical assistance and training for participating agencies, facilitation of stakeholder meetings, communication among all parties, liaison to the Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Committee, management of program budget, fulfilling activities in program work plans.

Manages key initiatives/program areas with assigned program. The primary duties include developing and managing the program work plans, building partnerships, and implementing and evaluating program strategies. Facilitates group or coalition meetings and creates and delivers on grant deliverables and program content.  Collaborates with Community Health & Education leadership in strategy development and Implementation planning.  Monitors state and national models of partnership across business, community and healthcare sectors, offering guidance where there are opportunities to align with best practices.  Engages with schools and community partners, seeking out strategic opportunities for collaboration and alignment with grant/contract and CW priorities.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification

Requires valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, minimum liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier.

Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, health care management or related field required.

Experience (education can be substituted for experience)

Requires 3 years of community outreach, community education, cross system collaboration, early and middle childhood education or related experience

Experience in grant management or monitoring required

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and expansion of Children with Special Health Care Needs Preparedness for Emergencies program to better prepare first responders who treat children with complex care needs in emergency situations.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs ad hoc committee and other community groups and partners.
  • Maintain and establish partnerships with key individuals and agencies statewide (e.g., Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Association, Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, pediatric emergency medicine physicians, regional centers for children and youth with special needs, tribal clinics, regional disaster coalitions, pediatric emergency care coordinators, family representatives).
  • Implement and expand pediatric readiness in community emergency departments across Wisconsin.
  • Provide technical assistance and requested resources to community emergency departments participating in Pediatric Readiness program.
  • Implement and expand telehealth services in emergency departments across Wisconsin.
  • Provide updates to the Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Committee on programs and projects on a routine basis.
  • Assist Emergency Medical Services for Children Program Leader with drafting agendas, reviewing minutes, facilitating meetings, and refining all program materials for the initiative.
  • Assist in preparation and coordination of trainings at conferences and meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Alliance’s Creative Services team to develop materials to promote the programs and work of the emergency care initiative.
  • Monitor opportunities for grant funding and enhancements of the emergency care initiative.
  • Contribute to grant applications, progress reports and other means of documenting progress to funding agencies.

This is a primarily remote position with some travel required as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Education

Master’s degree related field preferred.
