Title: FOIA Specialist

Location: Remote/ WFH

Clearance: Public Trust

Target Salary: $70K-$75K

Employment: Full-time

Contract Length: 1 Year base + 4 Option years

About the Role:

Overview: Aitheras LLC is seeking a contractor to serve as an FOIA Specialist to support the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) in fulfilling its responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

The FOIA Specialist will work with FHFA personnel to obtain information for FOIA requests, review and analyze FOIA requests, and communicate with requesters to clarify FOIA requests. Other responsibilities include:
Independently determining what information may be released
Accurately redacting documents
Applying FOIA exemptions
Maintaining accurate records of released or withheld information
Preparing draft response letters

Required Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding organizational skills
Expert knowledge of FOIA laws and regulations.
The contractor must have at least three years of FOIA processing experience and experience using FOIA Xpress for managing FOIA requests.
Similar work experience in a federal government setting is preferred.
