The Role 
 
 
The Analytics Engineer is responsible for analytics engineering projects across the geographies of the Caribbean, Central and South America. Serves as the strategic bridge between BI and IT&S to deliver solutions that drive business value.

  • Responsible for delivering analytics engineering projects that advance the Analytics data roadmap for the Caribbean region. 
  • Implement services and components to enable enterprise-wide use of data
  • Participate in design discussions with stakeholders focused on scalability, design and implementation best practices
  • Automates analytics solutions including predictive model scoring and business intelligence reporting
  • Work closely with IT&S, Data office, software/data engineers and DevOps to build analytical capabilities that drive real business outcomes 
  • Support and maintain a successful product
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills & experience that will enable you to succeed in this role? 
 
 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science with a sound industry experience (3+ years) in various roles.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with hands-on development
  • 3+ years’ experience deploying data engineering solutions in a production setting
  • 3+ years’ experience with relational database (Sql Server), Python, R or Scala. (Production level coding)
  • Experience with scalable distributed data pipelines using open source tools and big data technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Storm, ELK, etc.
  • Experience of designing scalable solutions with proficiency in use of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience in cloud-based environment such as GCP with PaaS & IaaS
  • Experience of working with agile methodologies in a team with continuous collaboration 
  • MySQL, SQL, Stored Procedures       
  • HDFS, MapReduce, YARN, Pig, Hive, HBase, Zookeeper, Oozie
  • Python, Scala, Java
  • Strong ETL Experience
  • Spark, Spark Streaming
  • Data Modeling (Basic Level) experience
  • Data Standardization/Canonical Data Format definition
  • Data Integration Patterns
  • Data Quality/Lineage Solutions
  • Performance Benchmarking and Tuning
  • Data Conversion and Migration between different databases
  • PowerBI
 
 
Working Conditions
