WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Our national, public sector consulting firm is seeking a Director to expand our social impact through business development efforts, measure and monitor financial performance, and oversee Fiscal staff who lead cost accounting and cost analysis consulting services to local and state governments. This Director will serve as a subject matter expert to advise on the creation of cost-of-service analyses, indirect cost rates, and related deliverables for clients as well as be responsible for presenting report findings to executive-level leaders and at on-site and virtual Board meetings.

Candidates should be willing to problem-solve, possess critical thinking skills, be able to work independently but also in collaboration with other staff, and be self-motivated. We are looking for an individual with leadership and mentorship experience who is seeking a fast-paced working environment and has a growth mindset.

The individual should also have a genuine interest in working with the public sector and assisting with fiscal projects. This position requires significant time working directly with spreadsheets, cost modeling, and client interaction.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor financial performance metrics including revenue, sales, and staff utilization
  • Participate in business development efforts, including the generation of new business proposals and presentations
  • Manage a team of Managers, some with direct reports
  • Begin, complete, and renew client work with minimal oversight
  • Develop strong client relationships across all levels of public sector organizations
  • Lead client meetings
  • Advise clients on the process calculations used in the applicable cost analysis model
  • Problem solve complex issues on behalf of clients
  • Research existing and/or learn new regulations, programs, and subject matter areas
  • Present information orally to internal and external stakeholders
  • Produce and proofread extensive written reports for clients and ensure quality content and writing
  • Develop work plans to manage projects on time and monitor financial performance to stay within budget
  • Meet utilization target, monitor staff performance on utilization, and work with supervisor and team to address any gaps
  • Develop thought leadership articles and attend conferences, as needed
  • Participate in corporate activities and show a commitment to firm culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Strong leadership skills, including people development, team building, and conflict management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong math skills and Excel capabilities
  • Experience working and building relationships with client executives and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially strong analytical experience in Excel
  • Ability to travel depending on the sales cycle and client needs
