THE ROLE

Rounds is looking for a VP R&D to own the technical vision and execution of our engineering organization - spanning full-stack, backend, and DevOps teams. In this position, you will be responsible for defining and executing the technical vision for our company, as well as building the technology to support the management and optimization of our large portfolio of mobile apps. This position is based in Israel, but you will be working with a global team of engineers in a remote work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and execute the technical vision of the company
  • Build the technology to support the management and optimization of our large portfolio of mobile apps
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, both in Israel and remotely
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and business development
  • Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of new features and products
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and technical innovation
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies




Requirements

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Highly experienced in leading complex and high-volume developments all the way from ideation to deployment in production environments
  • Extensive experience working on Cloud environments - preferably with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with a can-do attitude , with the ability to work effectively across teams and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mobile ecosystem, including familiarity with mobile platforms, app development, mobile advertising, and user acquisition strategies is a big plus.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

We are a distributed team of more than 140 people, all working remotely and communicating partially synchronously (we usually overlap with our teams for 3/4 hours daily and are free to work on some of the tasks whenever it suits us best).
