Job description

This is a remote position.

Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Medical Virtual Assistant to support a busy outpatient physical therapy private practice based in New York. This is a remote position for a Medical Virtual Assistant who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and experienced in medical administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Intake and Onboarding

    • Enter new patient demographics and insurance information into the EMR system

    • Email new patients their initial paperwork and appointment schedules

    • Send updated schedules to patients when changes occur

  • Insurance and Benefits Coordination

    • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits

    • Maintain and update insurance details in patient reco

    • Liaise with insurance providers to confirm and clarify coverage

  • Patient Communication and Record Keeping

    • Send appointment reminders and manage schedule-related communications

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records

    • Ensure patient privacy and HIPAA compliance at all times

  • Administrative Support

    • Perform data entry tasks and generate basic reports as needed

    • Support internal file organization and team communication via Dropbox and Teams



Requirements
  • Proven experience as a medical virtual assistant or similar healthcare administrative role

  • Strong understanding of insurance verification processes and medical data entry

  • Familiarity with EMR systems (experience with TheraOffice is preferred)

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting

  • Reliable internet connection and professional work environment
