Job overview:

We seek a proactive and security-focused IT Specialist to join our dynamic fintech team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of IT systems that support our global operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in systems administration, networking, and automation, with experience working in high-compliance environments. You will collaborate cross-functionally to support infrastructure critical to financial services and customer data security.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support IT infrastructure, including firewall administration, VPN configuration, and cybersecurity best practices across remote and on-site environments.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical support across global teams, ensuring secure access and smooth operation of internal tools and applications.
  • Assist the IT Director in executing strategic IT projects, including system design, implementation, and reporting via tools like JIRA and email.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and support teams to resolve system-level issues, contributing to overall platform stability and security.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies, especially related to data protection, access control, and audit readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of IT experience in a security-conscious, high-availability environment.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, including SaaS providers, carriers, and hardware suppliers.
  • Fluent in English, with prior experience supporting teams or clients in the US or EU.
  • Proficiency in: Linux administration (Red Hat / CentOS 6/7/8, Ubuntu) and Windows systems (7/8/10, Server 2008/2012)
  • Scripting skills in at least one language: BASH, Python, or Perl.
  • Networking expertise, including Fortigate firewall configuration, VPNs, DHCP, and static routing.
  • Familiarity with IT automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a team-oriented approach.

Will be a Plus:

  • Experience supporting development and QA teams in fast-paced fintech or SaaS environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure and monitoring tools: LAMP stack, Nagios, Centreon, Zabbix, Jira, Bugzilla.
  • Exposure to configuration management tools: Puppet, Chef, Salt.
  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows and build systems: Makefile, RPM building, Phabricator.
  • RHCE certification or equivalent is a strong advantage.
  • Advanced networking knowledge: Fiber optics (single-mode/multimode), BGP, multicast traffic; Enterprise firewall and switch configurations: Fortigate, Cisco Nexus, Arista, Dell Force10.
  • VOIP troubleshooting experience: SIP, RTP streams, SIP trunks.
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms: QEMU, Docker, AWS, GCP, and cloud networking
