Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to join us at DTN as an Instructional Designer!

The successful candidate will be working within our Commercial Operations Team, where you will partner closely with the Enablement Coach and other key stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver compelling learning experiences.

Your work will drive consistent sales and operational excellence by ensuring content is engaging, innovative, and aligned with organizational goals. You will leverage adult learning principles, e-learning technologies, and performance analytics to empower DTN’s customer-facing teams with the knowledge, skills, and best practices they need to excel. 

Responsibilities:

Needs Analysis 

  • Partner with sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to identify skill gaps and performance challenges. 

  • Assess organizational needs to determine priority areas for upskilling and curriculum development. 

Curriculum & Content Development 

  • Design and develop a wide range of learning materials, including e-learning modules, facilitator guides, job aids, and microlearning experiences. 

  • Incorporate real-world scenarios and interactive components to enhance learner engagement and retention. 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Work closely with the Enablement Coach, subject matter experts (SMEs), and team leaders to ensure training aligns with corporate strategy and day-to-day realities. 

  • Coordinate updates and feedback loops to maintain alignment with evolving product releases, market shifts, and commercial priorities. 

Training Delivery & Facilitation 

  • Deliver or support both live and virtual training sessions, using instructional best practices and adult learning theories. 

  • Provide coaching tips and resources to sales managers and SMEs to reinforce learning on the job. 

Measurement & Iteration 

  • Track learner engagement, quiz scores, and operational KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives. 

  • Leverage data analytics, feedback, and performance outcomes to refine and improve curriculum design. 

Tool & Technology Utilization 

  • Utilize e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) to publish, track, and update content. 

  • Remain current with emerging technologies that can advance instructional design and learner adoption. 

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Highly experienced in instructional design and/or a related field with a proven ability to develop high-impact learning experiences for large, cross-functional teams. 

  • Expertise in adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and experience creating e-learning content and programs. 

  • Strong proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate). 

  • Exceptional project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously. 

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leadership, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams. 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly to diverse audiences. 

  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to measure training effectiveness and continuously improve learning strategies.

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $101,250 and $135,000 DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
