Position Title: Agile Business Analyst Specialist
Position Location: Remote – work virtually from anywhere in the United States

JOB SUMMARY
As an Agile Business Analyst supporting the development of both engineering and business operations tools, you’ll bridge the gap between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that product requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and delivered within Agile frameworks.  Leveraging your expertise, you’ll provide valuable insights and analysis to drive the development of innovative solutions that meet both business objectives and technical requirements.

This role will involve managing and prioritizing requirements, creating user stories, wireframes, and process flow diagrams, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

This individual will work collaboratively with software engineers, BI developers, IT professionals, project managers, and other relevant team members to ensure seamless integration and alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.

The role involves a strong focus on documenting both new and legacy applications, managing and prioritizing requirements, and creating user stories, wireframes, and process flow diagrams. The Agile Business Analyst will act as a liaison and facilitator between various stakeholders, ensuring the successful implementation of solutions that meet business needs and add value.

The Agile Business Analyst Specialist will receive moderate direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments.  Will assist project leadership on projects of complex scope.  Will work independently or under limited supervision.

This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Requirements Management (30%)
  • Manage and prioritize requirements effectively
  • Elicit and clearly document functional business and systems requirements
  • Partner with Product Owner to understand and prioritize key success factors and critical business needs

User Stories and Wireframes (25%)
  • Write effective user stories with clear acceptance criteria focused on business value.
  • Develop wireframes and process flow diagrams for the development team.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement (20%)
  • Conduct Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with stakeholders throughout SDLC.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developers, and QA testers.
  • Facilitate and manage meeting sessions with various stakeholders.

Business Analysis (15%)
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Interact with business owners, SMEs, and the management team to identify the scope of the project and to prepare use cases, user stories, and activity diagrams to further develop technical requirements
  • Provide guidance to project managers, business owners, development team, and subject matter experts to resolve outstanding issues and action items taken in the review meeting

Reporting & Documentation (10%)
  • Assist with all project communication and reporting
  • Document both new and legacy applications
  • Prepare development of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Use DevOps tools to manage Software Development Lifecycle and programming tasks
  • Manages personal hours using company tools
  • Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
  • Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned

Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)
  • Experience in conducting JAD sessions and other stakeholder engagement activities
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly in writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using Agile project management tools like DevOps
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 years of experience as Business Analyst or similar role required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or closely related field) strongly preferred
  • 3 years of experience in MEP Design or Revit Drafting strongly preferred
