Position Overview

Work under the guidance and supervision of AVP, Technology, Digital and Network Development. The primary responsibilities of this position are to participate in the design, development, and support of data imports/exports, reporting, manipulation, and extraction. Including but not limited to building tools, creating complex queries, stored procedures, and SSIS packages, analyzing database performance and making recommendations for improvements, and testing/evaluating new database features.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.

  • Design, develop, and tune existing SQL queries and stored procedures as needed.
  • Design, develop, and implement automated solutions to transfer and import files.
  • Design, develop, and implement automated solutions to extract data and transfer data/files to clients.
  • Design, develop, and implement tools with user interface to generate extracts.
  • Maintain and improve existing import and extract processes.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues as needed.
  • Must be methodical and able to establish priorities.
  • Manually manipulate data per requests from Product and Support/Success.
  • Evaluate and implement means to improve database performance.
  • Generate technical documentation as needed.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in relational database design and development using SQL Server.
  • Three or more years of working experience with SSIS packages.
  • Three or more years of experience with one or more of the following: ASP.Net, C#, .NET.
  • Advanced experience with complex stored procedures is a must.
  • Experience working with complex legacy applications.
  • Experience with AWS RDS is a bonus.

  • Seasoned in the full development life cycle including requirements gathering.
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience developing and supporting large-scale applications.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work closely with both Product and Development teams to deliver desired outcomes.
