The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Revenue Manager to join our growing Finance team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Revenue Manager will be responsible for the complete and accurate recognition of all aspects of revenue on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. The Revenue Manager will take an active role with the Company’s accounting and finance team members, and will have significant interaction with the Commercial, Market Access, and Supply Chain functions.
What you will do:
Manage the gross-to-net recognition of U.S. product revenue, including the creation and review of the gross-to-net model and key variables (e.g., WAC, list price, government pricing, returns, discounts, etc.)
Manage the U.S. government pricing function, including the creation and review of standard operating procedures, the calculation of all government prices (e.g., AMP, BP, URA, etc.), the management of customer memberships (i.e. COT schema), and reviewing all claims and payment processing
Be the primary point of contact between our U.S. government pricing / gross-to-net external consultants and third-party logistics (3PL) provider
Provide revenue recognition on a timely basis to support internal management and external SEC reporting requirements. Ensure that results are complete, consistently prepared and materially correct.
Manage the ex-U.S. revenue recognition process, working as the primary Accounting point of contact with the company’s ex-U.S. commercial distributors / partners
Assist with other aspects of the monthly Accounting close process as it pertains to the Commercial function
Support quarterly and annual financial audit process by directing the preparation of requested analysis, reports and documentation and coordinating efforts to expedite an effective and efficient external audit process as it relates to revenue
Manage revenue accounting controls and procedures to ensure effectiveness and in conjunction the overall strategy for SOX compliance
Continually identify opportunities to drive improvement in revenue recognition by leveraging systems and other resources
Work with departments to ensure accurate cutoff procedures
Coordinate with financial planning and analysis function to analyze and report revenue performance against budget and other metrics for monthly reports, and provide support to this function to contribute to accurate, high-quality budgeting and forecasting disciplines
Support treasury activities by prioritizing and planning payment commitments as it relates to revenue
What you bring:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting, CPA
Minimum 5-8 years of experience
Broad knowledge of accounting principles, specifically surrounding revenue recognition
Internal controls (SOX) experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work closely with and as part of the corporate team
Capable of critical thinking and problem solving
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interface with people at all levels
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Self-motivated and directed
Work Location:
Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description.
