  • Compiles, documents, and presents learnings to the Diabetes leadership team.

Senior Operations Engineering Program Manager - Sensors

Medtronic Diabetes is establishing a manufacturing footprint with contract manufacturers in Ireland for CGMs and Pumps. Given the criticality of these partnerships we are currently building our Product Innovation and Operations team for Ireland.

This team is partnering closely with our suppliers to set us up for success in both our current and next generation wearables. In this role you will work closely with your Diabetes Innovation and Operations peers and our contract manufacturers to bring life changing new technologies to market thus improving the lives of people living with Diabetes

A Day in The Life Of:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between the innovation team and our key contract manufacturing partners
  • Monitors the project from initiation through to commercial delivery.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with your R&D peers and onwards to manufacturing ramp up.
  • You will evaluate device designs using DFM methodology and review testing on early-stage designs providing timely feedback to the innovation group
  • You will lead the troubleshooting of manufacturing design/manufacturing issues day-to-day and provide technical solutions via analysis and hands-on interaction to your innovation peers and our suppliers.
  • You will review manufacturing scale up plans and own the CM partner performance from Development through Capacity Ramp onto sustaining
  • You will compile, document, and present all learnings to the Diabetes leadership team.


Key Skills & Experience

  • Requires a level 8 degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience
  • Distinct Advantage to have experience in a high volume automated environment.
  • A dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams, with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of SAP/Agile and CAD systems is a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to demonstrate Medtronic Mindset in their work and good presentation skills are desirable.
  • We are looking for a good technical communicator and fluency in English, both in writing and speaking.
