Job description

Job Summary:

The Data Analyst II plays a critical role in supporting the HEDIS Technical Operations Team by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and maintenance of data mappings used in HEDIS reporting and analytics. This role is responsible for managing target-to-source mappings, collaborating with business and technical teams on enhancements, and supporting new implementations.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and update target-to-source mapping documents for all data extracts used in HEDIS reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy of existing mappings and update them as business enhancements or system changes are introduced.
  • Collaborate with Systems Analysts to interpret business requirements for new markets, measures, or capabilities and translate them into data mappings.
  • Develop and document target-to-source mappings for Data Engineers to use in extract development.
  • Validate and troubleshoot data discrepancies between source systems, mappings, and HEDIS data extracts.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Intelligence teams, and IT to support data integration and ensure smooth ETL processes.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of HEDIS data operations.
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting support to business and clinical teams.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop business rules that support the transformation of data; facilitating discussions between users and modelers
  • Sets day-to-day objectives and delivers job responsibilities that may vary outside typical norms or practices.  Work consists of tasks that are occasionally not routine and often works independently and is required to apply discretion within established operational boundaries and procedures.
  • Problems and issues faced are occasionally vague, and may need some analysis to understand.  Makes adjustments to work methods to solve problems that may not be immediately evident in existing work processes and systems. However, may have references or help from norms and/or standard procedures to solve these problems.
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data mapping, and data integration related to HEDIS measurements Experience in systems analysis preferred
  • Healthcare Information Exchange experience preferred
  • Databricks experience helpful

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data querying tools to validate and troubleshoot data.
  • Experience working with ETL processes, data transformations, and metadata documentation.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into structured data mappings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:

$70,800.00 - $113,200.00

In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
