The Position:

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing competitive compensation programs for employees. They will conduct research and analysis to ensure the organization's compensation package is in line with industry standards and meets the needs of employees. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day process, while building a best-in-class Compensation program. We are looking for a self-driven individual who has experience in compensation, who is also willing to jump into any projects or tasks as they arise. This position will report to the Director, Total Rewards.

The ideal candidate will have the chance to shape programs from the ground up, implement innovative solutions, and grow professionally as our compensation function evolves.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the management and delivery of the global annual compensation processes, driving impactful efforts to evolve and scale our compensation processes and programs in alignment with our business objective
  • Benchmark jobs against external survey providers, and other market intelligence to determine compensation ranges for each position; provide summary reports of job and compensation analyses
  • Conduct job evaluations, evaluate market positioning, and assist with maintaining salary structures to ensure alignment with the overall compensation strategy.
  • Design and build compensation metrics, reports, and tools to inform compensation program decisions and forecast/analyze compensation outcomes
  • Participate in various complex compensation projects to ensure the company's ability to effectively attract, retain and reward employees
  • Prepares survey submissions and gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends
  • Support annual compensation review cycles, including planning, system configuration, testing, and execution
  • Support and drive annual employee compensation planning activities that are integrated with performance management processes, including the salary increase review cycle, promotions, and equity/market adjustments
  • Manage and produce comprehensive year-end compensation reports, including annual spend analysis, equity utilization reports, and compensation program effectiveness metrics
  • Support annual compliance reviews and reporting, including OFCCP and EEO-1 reporting.
  • Maintain current knowledge of compensation trends and regulations. Make recommendations for needed changes to existing programs, policies, and procedures
  • Create and deploy compensation content and training for HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Managers, and Employees; topics will span both foundational and complex aspects of compensation and our compensation programs
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to provide support for job leveling and ensure competitive compensation offers for new hires that align with internal equity and market standards
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, Accounting, and Payroll

Who You Are:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources required or a related field with 5+ years of compensation experience
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, modeling, VLOOKUP, macros and statistical function, and HRIS experience (ideally Workday)
  • Advanced proficiency in Workday HCM, specifically the Advanced Compensation module
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and research skills
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, visualize, and draw conclusions from complex data sets
  • In-depth knowledge of FLSA, EEOC, wage compliance, total rewards, salary benchmarking and compensation structures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing / new business requirements

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
