We are seeking a Remote Contract Specialist to provide technical and administrative support to the Program Executive Officer (PEO) Special Operations Forces Sustainment Activity (SOFSA) staff at Bluegrass Station in Lexington, KY and Fort Liberty, NC.

So, what will the Contract Specialist at Terrestris do?

As the Contract Specialist, you will support the full range of cradle to grave contracting activities. Support shall cover a wide range of customers on acquisitions to include procurement of complex and diversified items, services, and research and development. You will provide support to organizations requiring contracting services as directed by the government, perform market research/analysis to determine availability of the requirement, analyze market trends, commercial practices, conditions and technological advances, and select appropriate techniques and procedures to solve any acquisition problem. You will analyze difficult contracting issues and determine recommended courses of action, which may depart from previous approaches and provide business advice and assistance to technical personnel involved in the development of the statement of work or data requirements.

What does a typical day look like for the Contract Specialist?

You will:

  • Support both classified and unclassified efforts; this position is subject to special programs and read-on’s.
  • Assist with the request for proposal (RFP) preparations.
  • Assist the supporting proposal evaluation, assisting the USG Contracting Officers in negotiations.
  • Assist with reviews of contractor performance and reports of contract discrepancies.
  • Assist with the administration and completion of contract/task order/purchase order modifications to include closeouts.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the Contract Specialist we’re looking for if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • A minimum of (5) years of user/technical experience with Standard Procurement System (SPS) and/or CON IT.
  • The ability to operate within a multifunctional high OPTEMPO environment supporting many customers.
  • Extensive experience with USSOCOM procurement policies.
  • Adept knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, and SOFAR.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Action Acquisition Level II Contracting certification or equivalent.
  • Sufficient overall experience to function at a level of performance similar up to mid-range NH-III.
