The Associate Manager, Legal Strategic Contracts, is responsible for implementing and managing the contracting process in alignment with company policies and legal standards. This role oversees the negotiation, structuring, and management of contractual agreements with vendors, customers, and partners, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The Associate Manager develops and refines contract templates and programs, collaborates with key stakeholders—including legal counsel, finance, and sales operations—to identify necessary modifications, and provides guidance on contractual rights and obligations.
What you will do
Manage assigned Stryker division portfolios and/or a team of contracting professionals;
Serve as a principal point of contact for the escalation of complex contracting requirements;
Ensure compliance with applicable law and policies;
Ensure necessary documentation has been developed and retained in accordance with applicable laws and policies;
Draft, edit, review, and provide guidance for complex templates and programs, in a manner that manages business and legal risk while effectively supporting our internal and external customers in a timely manner and fast-paced environment;
Exhibit solid communication skills, including comfort in providing legal guidance as well as discussing legal concerns with division counsel and senior sales leaders;
Use advanced knowledge in Microsoft applications (or similar program) to compile teams metrics and highlights for senior leadership;
Manage the legal contract intake system used by the team, which shall include working with IT to make modifications to the system as well as training new users;
Provide training to key stakeholders on new templates and programs as well as present on relevant legal topics to senior leadership;
Ensure utilization and monitoring of systems and controls for contracting processes;
Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures;
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Participate in special projects and assist on other matters as required; and
As applicable, develop personnel through daily interactions and coaching of staff, provide guidance to staff in legal matters and in effective business partnering with internal and external stakeholders
What you need:
Required
6+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor degree required
Preferred
Experience working in medical devices contracts operation teams
Experience leading contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations while maintaining transparency.
Experience working in partnerships with legal and commercial operations teams to streamline contract review and approval processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
Experience working in large matrix organizations
Experience working in a contract operation capacity/ department.
Experience in developing continuous improvement processes for contract teams
Experience in public speaking
Strong collaborating experience with cross-functional teams
$100,500 - 215,300 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
