Job Description:

Administers computer platforms/operating systems with medium to high range of scale and complexity; develops recommendations for security and backup/recovery specifications and procedures; coordinates installation of new/revised platforms and systems; conducts short and mid-range planning; and participates in project management activities. Requires strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate technology concepts to an audience that may not have a technical background.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in computer science, data processing or related field.

Minimum of three years related experience with a major operating system plus basic proficiency with additional platforms/operating systems.

Associates degree in computer science, data processing or related field.

Minimum of five years related experience with a major operating system plus basic proficiency with additional platforms/operating systems.

7 years’ experience in a medium to large centralized IS department with evidence of increasing responsibility entailing related experience with a major operating system plus basic proficiency with additional platforms/operating systems.

Systems Administrator I pay range: $29.81 - $44.72

Systems Administrator II pay range: $34.58 - $51.87

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification on vendor hardware preferred.

Experience with the following technologies is preferred, but not required of candidates for this position: Windows Server, Linux, AIX, Cisco UCS, server hardware/management, Load-balancing (F5 BigIP, Citrix ADC), virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer Hypervisors), Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage systems, scripting and automation, Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, Okta IdP, PKI, backup software
