Senior Accountant (QuickBooks Proficient)

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is dedicated to delivering high-quality orthopedic care to underserved communities, including those on Medicaid or uninsured. As we grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong QuickBooks expertise to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide insightful financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. 

• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. 

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS. 

• Conduct bank reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, and expense tracking. 

• Handle tax preparation and filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

• Utilize QuickBooks for financial reporting, data management, and process automation. 

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making. 

• Work with external auditors and tax consultants as needed. 

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role. 

• Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online). 

• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations. 

• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations. 

• Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred. 

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in multi-entity accounting or working with U.S.-based companies. 

• Experience in the health care industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management. 

• Familiarity with other accounting software such as NetSuite, SAP, or Xero is a plus.
