Job Description

As a Business Operations Senior Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the operational risk and compliance uplift across Telstra Enterprise. Your role is critical to safeguarding our organisation by helping to implement and enact key compliance policies and procedures to ensure Telstra complies with all internal and external regulations.

  • You play a crucial role in evolving the risk management culture and practice across Telstra Enterprise, ensuring compliance with Telstra’s Risk Management Framework and industry best practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Leverage your specialist risk and compliance management knowledge and strong interpersonal skills to effectively partner with the business to advise, support and constructively challenge, enabling services to key Enterprise customers to meet our contractual, business and compliance objectives.

  • Build your credibility as an expert in risk and compliance management, serving as a trusted business partner and a key point of contact for Telstra Enterprise, establishing a positive risk culture in the business to help to drive the effective management of risks and compliance obligations.

  • Authentically engage and collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to help distil complex problems into simple and manageable actions that result in optimal business outcomes that serve our Enterprise customers.

  • Drive ongoing management of risks by performing risk assessments, analysis, and reporting, identifying and reporting control gaps and treatments, and ensuring accurate information in the risk management system.

  • Work as part of a cross-skilled team that can support a range of inter-connected risk domains, including technology risks.

  • Contribute to the identification, development, documentation and testing of key controls. Where control gaps are identified from compliance breaches, Internal Audit findings or risk assessments, liaise with the business to identify action owners and follow up for completion.

  • Act as advisor to the business on impacts to risks and obligation areas and helping the business identify appropriate corrective remediation.

  • Synthesise domain knowledge and apply analytical thinking to conduct risk reporting tailored for the Executive team and other key stakeholders, using a strong understanding of risk standards to provide guidance on the most significant risks to the business.

  • Utilise and provide input into the design and implementation of the overall risk management process for Telstra, to ensure the effective delivery of risk and compliance priorities, lead the management and mediation of risk and issues.

Strong planning, organizational, and presentation abilities will help you navigate complex challenges, while your analytical mindset and strategic thinking will ensure continuous improvement.
