The Role

Bobbie is looking for a Brand Copy Lead to develop, own, and hone a differentiated brand voice across every touchpoint. You: Are obsessed with words, character creation, and the power of storytelling. Thrive on writing as much as you do on editing and mentoring a team. Love working across creative and marketing teams to ensure Bobbie’s voice is distinct, consistent, and evolving in all the right ways. The ideal candidate has the strategic mind of a messaging architect and the hands-on ability to execute across platforms—particularly video scripting (oh, lots of it). You will be responsible for leading messaging strategy across marketing and creative, maintaining and enforcing a brand copy style guide, and ensuring that Bobbie’s voice is engaging, clear, and true to our mission.

What you will accomplish: 

  • Develop & Own Brand Voice: Define, refine, and reinforce Bobbie’s unique voice across all channels, ensuring it remains consistent, compelling, and adaptable for different audiences and platforms.
  • Manage a Messaging Ecosystem: Maintain and evolve a brand style guide, voice guidelines, and messaging sources of truth to ensure copy alignment across the entire business, including outside partners. 
  • Write & Edit Across Channels: Lead messaging strategy and execution across video, paid, email, platform, packaging, campaigns, and more—adapting tone and style as needed.
  • Script Video Content: Work closely with video editors and animators to write and refine high-volume video scripts for marketing, product storytelling, and brand campaigns.
  • Mentor & Edit a New Team: Provide editorial oversight, feedback, and mentorship to internal future and present freelance writers, ensuring top-tier copy across all creative outputs.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with marketing, creative, and product teams to align messaging with overall business and brand strategy.
  • Ensure Strategic Messaging Alignment: Keep key stakeholders informed and aligned on messaging priorities and frameworks.

What we would like you to have: 

  • 10+ years of experience in brand copywriting (CPG, eCommerce, and startup experience preferred).
  • A portfolio of compelling brand, product, or social campaigns you concepted and wrote end to end—including video scripts—that demonstrates an ability to distill complex ideas into digestible, memorable narratives.
  • Experience building and managing a brand style guide and leading messaging consistency across a company.
  • Skilled editing chops, an impeccable eye for detail, and an ability to elevate the work of other writers.
  • A collaborator and communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and can seamlessly work with art directors, marketers, and leadership.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of projects, sees around corners, and is always thinking about how to make messaging sharper, smarter, and more compelling.

Compensation 

Our salaries are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. For fully remote roles, we have a single salary target per role that is differentiated based on geographic location (Group A, B, or C).

Group A (SF/Bay Area, Seattle, NYC): $178,000

Group B (Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego, Philadelphia, Portland, Sacramento): $160,000

Group C (Albany, Atlanta, Baltimore, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Charleston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Miami, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Orleans, Omaha, Orlando, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Research Triangle, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Tampa, Twin Cities): $151,500
