About the role

As a Sales Development Manager,  you will lead and mentor our BDR  team to drive a high-quality sales pipeline and contribute to Sonder’s continued growth.

Through effective leadership you will support the BDR’s in achieving their pipeline targets by increasing sales efficiency, improving team and individual performance, and identifying opportunities for innovative business development strategies.

What you’ll be doing

  • Attract, retain and develop a team of high performing business development Representatives.
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, celebrating achievements, and providing actionable feedback.
  • Develop and implement personalised development plans (IDPs), mentorship, and professional growth opportunities for team members.
  • Proactively manage team performance while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Drive innovative sales development strategies, refining processes and leveraging tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Own and exceed SQL targets, ensuring the team contributes significantly to Sonder’s sales pipeline and growth goals.
  • Use data-driven insights to monitor team performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive continual improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations teams to optimise lead generation, conversion rates, and sales handoff processes.

What you bring to the team;

  • 2-3 years proven track record of leading a high performing Business Development team preferably within SaaS or technology.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing and mentoring team members to reach their full potential
  • Expertise in sales development, value-based selling, and lead qualification strategies.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse performance metrics and implement strategic improvements.
  • Deep understanding of modern sales technologies (e.g., CRM platforms, sales engagement tools).
  • Knowledge of MEDDPICC or other sales qualification frameworks, with the ability to train and support team members in applying these effectively.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused leader who fosters collaboration and a positive team culture.
