TextNow is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join our Upgrades team and play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. As a Senior Developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Backend Engineering, to deliver intuitive and performant mobile experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of the Android ecosystem, strong technical skills, and a passion for solving complex challenges.

What You'll Do

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex Android features and applications.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices (e.g., SOLID principles, MVVM, and Clean Architecture). Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality across the team.

Work closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Ensure apps are performant, scalable, and maintain high responsiveness across various devices and OS versions.

Implement robust unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests. Improve CI/CD pipelines and automation for Android releases.

Provide technical mentorship to junior developers, guiding them in coding standards, best practices, and design principles.

Participate in technical discussions with leadership and other stakeholders to shape product direction and technical strategy.

Stay updated on the latest Android frameworks, tools, and trends. Advocate for and implement innovative solutions to improve the development process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or relevant experience.

5+ years of professional mobile software development experience with AndroidutilizingJava or Kotlin. Familiarity with Jetpack Compose.

Experience with mobile in-app purchases (IAP) on the Play Store is highly desirable.

Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering highquality software.

Can write concise, performant, testable code. Unit testing is a must.

Experience releasing apps to the Google Play Store.

Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
