FDS Consult UK is part of the FDS Group, we provide fire engineering consultancy services throughout the UK. Our highly qualified and experienced team of fire engineers and CFD Engineers target design issues with a solution-driven approach that integrates fire design with both the architect’s vision and the client's brief. We have a portfolio of projects that cover all building sectors. We take an innovative and bespoke approach to every project to find solutions for each building that enhance the occupant's safety whilst maintaining its design concept and working practically with its end-use. This is an interesting opportunity to become a fully qualified fire engineer.

Your responsibilities:

You will work closely with the Senior Fire Engineers, and will take responsibility for:

• Reviewing drawings and providing feedback to all relevant stakeholders
• Providing fire statements to support planning applications
• Writing fire Strategies to ensure approval from authorities, whilst ensuring the project brief has been met
• Providing advice on the suitability of fire safety design and fire engineered solutions
• The provision of detailed fire strategy drawings
• Liaison with all relevant stakeholders to ensure designs and solutions meet the requirements
• Produce and review structural fire engineering solutions
• Delivering detailed fire strategy drawings
• Giving sound advice and support during the approval and construction process
• Delivery of fee proposals

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• A recent engineering graduate with a relevant degree (BEng) degree
• Someone looking to start their career
• Someone with an interest in fire engineering
• Excellent communication skills
• A willingness to learn and a willingness to share knowledge
• Ability to proactively seek solutions and think outside of the box
• Ability to work safely, ethically and adopt best practice
