Job Description
This role will contribute to our growing in-house legal team and work on complex issues in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel – Litigation, Employment & Legal Operations and will be part of an active and collaborative team of attorneys and paralegals. The Senior Corporate Counsel – Litigation will provide legal advice to internal clients, supervise/manage litigation matters, and serve as a resource for the organization on complex legal issues.

Paid Time Off: Envision Healthcare offers paid time off, 9 observed holidays and paid family leave. You accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) each pay period and depending on your position and can earn a minimum of 20 days and up to 25 days per calendar year.
Responsibilities
- Provide management and supervision of outside counsel on complex commercial litigation matters, including determination of negotiation and settlement strategy
- Develop strategy and tactics for complex, high-profile litigation, disputes and investigations
- Review and analyze all discovery responses, pleadings and determine appropriate corporate representatives in connection with litigation matters
- Analyze and provide risk assessment for litigation matters
- Manage budgets for litigation matters and related projects to incentivize cost savings and promote alternative fee arrangements
- Assist in the representation of Envision and its affiliates in formal and informal dispute resolution processes and mediation, as well as administrative proceedings before governmental or regulatory agencies.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide recommendations to internal clients
- Prepare written opinions and guidance for internal clients
- Work with key leaders to help identify and mitigate legal issues across the organization and assist in crafting solutions to protect the company's interests
- Draft, review and, where applicable, negotiate legal documents, including but not limited to correspondence, settlement agreements, demand letters, and internal memos.
- Evaluate indemnification and insurance obligations in connection with claims
- Participate in special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Expertise in general civil litigation, complex commercial litigation or employment litigation
- Experience in medical malpractice claims preferred
- Experience with eDiscovery issues
- High-level analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong project management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a variety of projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines and successfully handle urgent situations with patience and diplomacy
- An agile and flexible thinker, with the ability to learn emerging areas of the law and the business quickly
- Ability to function independently and as a part of a team
- Ability to build credibility quickly and provide strong legal support for a complex and challenging business, while positively and successfully managing relationships within a diverse group of stakeholders

Education/Experience
Licensed attorney holding a J.D. from a top-tier law school with a minimum of nine (9) years of related experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Legal Research Tools (i.e. LexisNexis)
- Matter Management/eBilling Software
Certificates and Licenses (if applicable)
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state
