JOB OVERVIEW

Lead a Product Owner team for company product platforms. Help the team to serve the Product Mangers’ vision for market needs with consistency, clarity, and efficiency. They should lead the Product Owner team in building scalable, extensible, and maintainable platform features that can be optimized for a variety of products.

Responsible for the success of the product by maximizing the output of the development team within a scrum framework. Responsible for ordering backlog, clearly expressing the product backlog items, ordering the items to best achieve goals and optimizing the value of the work the team performs. Lead collaboration, facilitate sprint activities, and create and communicate requirements artifacts that translate business needs into executable requirements. Work closely with business stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize, and communicate needs to ensure full understanding of project scope, objectives, and requirements. Develop and adapt the product vision, write new user stories, and specify acceptance of each user story.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Supervise a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts who also work on the platform.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters on best practices that can be adopted across the development group to minimize dependency and maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure that defects sent to the Product & Engineering organization for the platform are properly triaged.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to ensure alignment across more than one product roadmap in a scaled scrum environment.
  • Facilitate Agile introduction of new work for the platform, and lead collaboration around trade off decisions and priority adjustments on behalf of the Product Managers.
  • Hold Product Owners accountable for creating feature sets that can be utilized by the entire platform and are not bound to a specific market on induvial use case.
  • Develop best release and deploy practices, focusing on predictability and quality, and guide the team to fully adopting the practices on regular basis.
  • Facilitate delivery of information to leadership and stakeholders when multiple Product Owners from the platform are involved.
  • May act as a Product Owner for their own scrum team, supporting delivery of new application development in their area of the product platform as well all other normal Product Owner duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or comparable experience leading or serving in a SaaS development environment (i.e. Business Analyst, Project Manager, etc.)
  • 1+ years’ exhibiting leadership capabilities (direct supervision and management of others preferred)
  • Knowledge of the product platform, or proven track record of gaining mastery in complex software tools
  • Well-honed writing skills, tactful verbal/interpersonal communication abilities, and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Assertiveness, empathy, and persuasiveness when interacting with others
  • Ability to find consensus across groups and resolve conflict
  • Strong leadership and negotiating skills
  • Professional Product Owner certification required (i.e., Professional Scrum Product Owner-PSPO)
  • Agile, Scaled Agile, or Scrum experience
  • SaaS solutions

REQUIRED SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

  • Tableau, Sisense or other business intelligence tool
  • Agile management tool (i.e. Jira, Aha and Wiki)
  • Basic understanding of database querying using SQL
  • Basic understanding of coding languages (i.e., HTML, CSS, C#, ASP.Net)
