POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, IT Programs, will lead programs and projects, as well as strategic business transformations and continuous improvement across the Information Technology department. The Director will comply with and ensure best-practice program management, project management, and continuous improvement processes are used in alignment with Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). Operating at a strategic level in collaboration with ECRI’s Senior Leader Team (SLT), this highly visible and influential role will interface with multiple business lines and functions. As part of this, the Director will deploy and support Project Management Institute (PMI)-based project management tools across the IT department in such ways that show demonstrated benefits (ex: growth enablement, savings, efficiency gains, capacity increase, customer satisfaction). This position will make high-impact contributions that ensure IT actions support strategic priorities and enable the organization to expand its impact on improving healthcare worldwide. The Director is responsible for working with ECRI’s SLT and key business leaders to identify IT strategic priorities, work with key business leaders to execute prioritized objectives, and serve as a driving force in ensuring that all set priorities align with ECRI’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. The Director must be able to oversee and effectively manage multiple IT projects and the deployment of appropriate program management, project management, and continuous improvement tools. The role must be able to manage and drive change and take active leadership in timely decision-making. This is a significant role for ECRI’s Information Technology department with a strong opportunity to have impact in enabling growth, improving processes, delivering strategy, and enabling efficient growth.

Essential Functions:

Partners with ECRI’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to establish IT program management approach to ensure strategic alignment through prioritization, resource capacity management, key result tracking and program management to achieve strategic plan goals and vision.

  • Partners with the SLT and IT leadership to identify, develop, and deliver key project performance indicators (KPI’s), such as costs and ROI metrics, throughout the IT organization are aligned to organization objectives.

Collaborate with the EPMO to communicate a comprehensive IT portfolio roadmap, outlining projects, priorities, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with organizational goals and dependencies across strategic initiatives.

Develops, deploys and advocates program and project management expertise throughout the IT department via education and support of standardized, best-practice processes, and tools.

Improves program management and project management effectiveness through innovative approaches, modern analytics, and continuous process improvement including formalizing a common language for the IT department.

Serves as a change management leader within the IT department, supporting both the identification and application of new project management concepts and driving the spread of best practices organization-wide while breaking down barriers along the way.

Actively participates and engages others in decision-making, information sharing, and identifying opportunities for improvement, while encouraging others to do the same.

Works with functional teams to streamline processes that improve IT department objectives, with a specific focus on customer experience, efficiency, and growth-enablement.

Manage relationships with third-party vendors on relevant projects, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and deliver value.

Improves the decision-making model and problem-solving capabilities within high performance teams to increase the autonomy and pace of change.

Develop, manage and operate and monitor the approved department budget, as well as champion (with Business Lead) business case support and decision-making for CI-related improvements requiring investment. All while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Regularly track progress on all project plans and provide updates to executives in the form of a dashboard.

Monitor and report on monthly expense performance and prepare detailed financial forecasts with variance analysis.

Analyze actual performance trends against the project plans and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives.

Provide actionable insights for cost optimization.

Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Compile defined metrics and submit monthly reports to Chief Technology Officer.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in the service delivery industry.

3-5 years leading others to develop and communicate the strategic vision and inspire and motivate.

Demonstrated business relationship building skills, as demonstrated by depth and breadth of experience.

Demonstrated experience serving in an influential role that interfaces with multiple business lines and functions.

Strong business/financial acumen and presentation skills, as demonstrated by depth and breadth of experience.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform decisions.

Adept at project and change management.

Must have a sufficient technical background to understand the technologies and technical issues involved with the product, to be able to anticipate and identify critical technical obstacles, and to make accurate technology decisions.

Ability to perform under minimum direction, with high personal energy, and a positive approach to dealing with challenges and ambiguity.

Ability to deal with conflict positively.

Must have high level of interpersonal skills and be able to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Proven leadership skills, both with direct management and matrix influence capabilities.

Experience in a program and/or project management role in a consultancy role is preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

POSITION COMPENSATION

The salary range for new employees in this position is $127,164.97 - $144,332.24, based on background, experience, and skills. In addition, new employees in this position are eligible for all of our benefit offerings, including, but not limited to, health and welfare benefits, 403(B) retirement savings, and paid time off (PTO).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position operates in a remote environment and requires the individual to remain in a stationary position, whether sitting or standing, before a desk or other fixed workspace, most of their workday. In addition, this position requires the individual to occasionally move about their workspace to access and inspect work-related materials, such as file cabinets with physical files and standard office equipment. This position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, including, but not limited to, a laptop, keyboard, mouse, webcam, and phone, as well as effectively communicate information and ideas to a wide variety of audiences in written and oral form.
