Assistant Financial Accountant GL position

As an Assistant Financial Accountant within the Finance team, you will contribute to a diverse range of financial processes associated with both internal Smurfit Westrock factories and (back) offices as well as external suppliers throughout Europe. You provide excellent support to all internal and external stakeholders, where you are energized by administering complex accounts payable and receivable flows within a dynamic, international environment.

Description

You enjoy continuously interacting with various internal and external stakeholders. You are an expert in planning and organizing, you like to work meticulously and you are someone who gets things done within a large and international organization.

A Selection Of The Tasks

• Preparation of VAT and Intrastat returns in 18 countries and contact person for our tax advisor;
• Participating in month-end closings and drawing up audit reports;
• Preparing and processing journal entries;
• Correctly allocating payments and processing payment discounts;
• Converting sales contracts to creation of sales orders;
• Creation of sales orders for credit notes;
• Preparing the hedging process in connection with hedging currency risks;
• Maintaining operational contact with internal and external stakeholders;
• Providing support for internal and external audits;
• Proactively thinking about process improvements.
  
  

Profile

• HBO working and thinking level;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
• Experience with SAP, SAP BI and HFM is an advantage;
• Experience in a listed multinational is an advantage;
• Experience in the paper industry is an advantage;
• Command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing;
• Can work in a customer- and result-oriented way and has good analytical thinking skills;
• Stress resistant and accuracy;
• Sets the right priorities and takes initiative.
  
  

Job Offer

• Salary between €2900 - €3500 gross per month (based on a 40-hour working week) depending on age and experience;
• A contract for 32-40 hours per week;
• Starting with a temporary contract, with the prospect of permanent employment;
• 25 vacation days and 13 ATV days (based on a 40-hour working week);
