This role is a key position, guiding our efforts to coordinate and facilitate training for outdoor leaders across AMC’s staff and volunteer communities. 

 

This is a contracted, 8-month position reporting to the Senior Manager of the Center for Outdoor Learning & Leadership, with the potential for growth into a full-time position. Periodic travel is required to facilitate training and engagement with staff across the organization. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing At AMC

  • Coordinate logistics, communications and enrollment for 30+ Wilderness First Aid and Mental Health First Aid courses across AMC regions 

  • Build and maintain relationships with contracted educational providers 

  • Serve as a member of the on-call team responding to logistical needs or emergencies on weekend courses 

  • Directly deliver outdoor leadership training to AMC staff 

  • Create a supportive environment for gathering feedback and assessing courses to continuously improve the experience for everyone involved 

  • Contribute to content building projects 

  • Collect data in support of regional grants and reporting activities 

  • Commitment to inspiring joyous, meaningful outdoor experiences for all 

  • Ensure compliance with AMC policies and procedures 

Qualifications

What AMC Is Looking For

  • Demonstrated skills in training and facilitation in outdoor communities 

  • Effective organizational and communication skills. Ability to listen, facilitate, and communicate clearly 

  • Detail oriented, adept at tracking multiple projects and communication streams. 

  • Creative problems solving skills 

  • Current/Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record 

  • A genuine enthusiasm for outdoor experiences and people and flexibility to work some weekends and evenings, including regional travel to engage stakeholders

Salary range: $25/hour
