Over the course of 9-12 months, this consultant will work with key partners to create technical planning documents, liaise with government, convene stakeholders, conduct technical advocacy, and ensure timely completion of project deliverables. The consultant will work closely with senior technical advisors based at global level. Specific components of the work may include:

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data-driven epidemiological analysis of outbreaks based on global guidance, leaning on best practices from other countries and based on detailed understanding of the country context.
  • Assist with finalization and stakeholder buy-in for a vaccination effort, including budgets and M&E planning, ensuring compliance with global-level guidance.
  • Support the convening of national stakeholders, including conducting stakeholder mapping.
  • Provide in-person support for two in-country workshops.
  • Participate in consultations with all relevant stakeholders at global and regional levels to ensure that the application incorporates all perspectives and inputs.
  • Ethiopia across all steps of the IRC process, including initial submission, pre-screening from GTFCC, Gavi, and other partners, preparing for IRC review, and responding to two rounds of IRC comments if “recommended for approval.”
  • Project management and coordination, including collaboration with global level stakeholders and regional level stakeholders such as WHO Regional Offices.
  • Experience working with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and/or the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) within the Ministry of Health is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Location

  • The effort will be compensated on a per deliverable basis using time estimates to be agreed with the consultant. Work will take place between February 28 2024 and December 31 2025.
  • Contractor will work from their own location in or around Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
