What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the configuration, administration, and optimization of the Odessa Lease Management System to meet accounting, operational, and back-office requirements.

  • Developing and maintaining APIs, stored procedures, and custom software to integrate Odessa with Salesforce and other enterprise systems.

  • Ensuring system changes align with GAAP, ASC 842, and other compliance requirements.

  • Leading and participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver system enhancements through an iterative development process.

  • Acting as the primary liaison between Accounting, Product Management, Technology, and Back-Office Operations teams for Odessa-related projects.

  • Partnering with Accounting SMEs to gather system requirements, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliance with lease accounting standards.

  • Streamlining processes for adjusting lease payment schedules, tracking promises to pay, and revising contracts within Odessa.

  • Working with Product Managers to prioritize system improvements and align them with broader business objectives.

  • Designing and implementing systemic controls to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

  • Optimizing data integration workflows between Odessa, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems.

  • Leading quality assurance testing for new system features and updates.

  • Providing training to Accounting, Finance, Customer Service, and Back-Office Operations teams on Odessa features and functionality.

  • Acting as the Odessa system expert, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal system performance.

  • Shadowing the SVP of Finance to gain deep knowledge of the Odessa build, absorbing all relevant processes, and gradually transitioning into the Technology department as the Subject Matter Expert (SME).

What you have:

  • 5 or more years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger, and reconciliation processes.

  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience with ERP system implementation and management (Odessa experience preferred).

  • Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or relevant auditing firms that understand accounting framework interfacing with platform architecture and development/design.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Technical expertise in API development, SQL, and system configuration.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive).

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile framework.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in process flow mapping and documentation.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and lead system implementation projects.

What will make you stand out:

  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification.

  • Experience in the leasing industry or with lease accounting standards (ASC 842, IFRS 16).

  • Experience with Salesforce and its integration with other enterprise systems.

  • Knowledge of additional systems such as Odessa, Sigma, Vertex, PTMS, or QBO.

  • Familiarity with sales tax and property tax software solutions.

  • Understanding of system architecture and development within an ERP environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Administer and maintain the Odessa Lease Management System, ensuring optimal performance and integration with enterprise platforms.

  • Provide technical expertise in ERP configuration, API development, and data integration to support accounting and operational functions.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 842, and data security standards while managing financial transactions and reporting systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system improvements, process optimization, and scalability.

  • Facilitate training and knowledge sharing to support end-users and internal stakeholders in leveraging system capabilities.

  • Work in a hybrid, remote, or in-office setting as needed to attend meetings and collaborate with teams.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with data security protocols related to financial transactions and client data protection.

  • Perform tasks that require prolonged periods of sitting, viewing computer screens, and using input devices such as keyboards and mice.

Additional Notes:

  • This position will begin with a shadowing period under the SVP of Finance, who is leading the Odessa build, before transitioning into the Technology department as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Dev/Engineering.
