Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $54,200.00 - $81,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Cox Communication is hiring a Financial Analyst I in the Cost Accounting team to support Digital & Information organization.
Productive professional contributor with strong understanding of area of focus. Assigned to larger, moderately complex projects. Work requires increasing independence; guidance is provided on a regular basis but primarily on unusual or complex issues. Work typically involves periodic review of output by others. Moderate to Expert level of Excel proficiency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform month-end accounting and reporting activities with a focus on maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
Support enterprise-wide financial planning processes including, the annual budget planning process, and other quarterly or monthly processes
Performs financial analyses and identifies emerging trends which may include, cost analysis, financial and expense performance comparisons, calculations of rate of return, cash flows, and financial planning and creates visualization of data analysis.
Performs data analysis of accounting transactions, including review of general ledger accounts, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements and records routine transactions such as, journal entries and other ERP transactions as needed.
Build and maintain financial models to monitor and optimize accounting processes by reviewing operational & financial processes to ensure compliance and key performance metrics.
Interpret financial data, data analysis, and key business drivers to make recommendations on the appropriate course of action based on the analysis performed or modeling.
Perform special projects and tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of financial management concepts, accounting procedures, and measuring/ reporting business drivers and variance analysis
Effective communication skills, building strong business partner relationships and the ability to work in a team environment
Strong project or process management skills – including building and maintaining project plans and status, coordinating and assisting with project meetings, writing communications, and building in appropriate change management measures
Demonstrated analytical ability with track record of delivered results
Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple, changing priorities, and work under tight deadlines at times.
Experienced in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating one’s own work
Demonstrated skill at working remotely
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with 1+ year of work experience in a financial environment. A non-degreed candidate must have 4+ years of related experience.
Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
Experience in telecommunications industry preferred.
