Job description

LOGISTICS & INFORMATION

Location: Tilting Futures’ team is fully remote. We accept applications from anywhere in the United States and we are focusing our search on California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, and Texas.

Start date: The ideal start date is April 1, 2025.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $105,000-$115,000. We are proud to provide a total compensation package that puts the person first, and can discuss in more detail once a candidate has applied. You can learn more about our benefits here.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Director, Global Recruitment & Admissions (DGRA) is a strategic and results-oriented leader responsible for driving the recruitment and enrollment of students for Tilting Futures’ programs. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to growing enrollment while ensuring an exceptional student experience. DGRA will lead efforts to recruit diverse, high-caliber students for all programs, manage financial aid processes, cultivate key higher education partnerships, and collaborate across teams to achieve the organization’s enrollment and earned revenue goals.

The DGRA reports directly to Aziza Musa, Chief External Affairs Officer, on the External Affairs team. The other primary stakeholders for this role are Meghan Guidry (Director, Marketing & Communications), Leo Chen (International Recruitment Specialist), and Lance Mann (Associate, External Affairs). YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPACT

Recruitment & Admissions Strategy:

  • Lead the recruitment efforts to meet annual enrollment goals of 250 students, with plans to scale to 500+ students, focusing on both regular semester ($21,000 tuition) and summer semester ($10,500 tuition) programs.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to recruit a diverse global student body.
  • Leverage knowledge of international student recruitment trends and financial aid challenges to tailor strategies that address varying documentation requirements, such as tax returns for international applicants.
  • Oversee a seamless admissions process, ensuring efficiency, personalization, and exceptional service from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Manage financial aid, including scholarship awarding, application review, and budget compliance, while collaborating with the finance team to maintain a sustainable scholarship program aligned with organizational goals.

Cultivate and Manage Recruitment Partnerships:

  • Develop and oversee a strategic pipeline of recruitment partners, leveraging data and analytics to identify and prioritize high-potential opportunities. Build and maintain relationships to establish effective feeder programs, while guiding the team’s efforts in this area. 

Marketing & Communications:

  • Partner with the Marketing, Communications & Brand team to develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy that promotes the programs, builds brand awareness, and engages prospective students.
  • Ensure all recruitment and admissions materials reflect the organization’s mission, values, and program offerings, aligning with the overall brand strategy.

Data-Driven Decision Making & Continuous Improvement:

  • Use enrollment, recruitment, and financial aid data to inform decision-making, track progress toward goals, and continuously refine recruitment and admissions strategies.
  • Analyze trends and feedback from applicants, students, and partners to identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure the best possible experience for prospective students.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives, processes, and strategies to continuously improve the recruitment, admissions, and financial aid experience, ensuring the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, and innovations in international student recruitment, admissions, and financial aid, incorporating these insights to refine strategies and elevate team performance.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing recruitment and admissions team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments to align recruitment efforts with organizational goals, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective students.

The following skills & experience are required:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Leadership: A track record of cultivating a culture of excellence within the team, balancing the pursuit of ambitious goals with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Expertise in analyzing recruitment, enrollment, and financial aid data to inform strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including prospective students, academic partners, and internal teams.
  • Proven track record of recruiting and enrolling students for tuition-based programs, including experience with both domestic and international recruitment.
  • International Recruitment Expertise: Deep understanding of global recruitment trends, challenges, and best practices, particularly for international student populations.
  • Financial Aid Knowledge: Experience in financial aid management, including evaluating applications and awarding scholarships, particularly for international students.
  • Experience managing partnerships with higher education institutions and/or non-profit organizations to recruit students.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, data analytics tools, and admissions management software.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Your day begins with a strategy meeting with your recruitment team, reviewing the latest enrollment data and adjusting outreach plans to ensure alignment with Tilting Futures’ ambitious enrollment goals. You dive into insights from Slate, analyzing application trends and identifying opportunities to engage prospective students more effectively. Mid-morning, you join a virtual call with a recruitment partner in Asia to finalize a new partnership agreement. Afterward, you connect with the marketing team to review upcoming campaigns, ensuring messaging resonates with diverse, global audiences and reflects the organization’s values.

In the afternoon, you meet with the Finance Operations Manager to evaluate scholarship allocation and confirm budget compliance while ensuring equitable access for international students facing unique financial challenges. A quick check-in with the admissions team follows, where you troubleshoot challenges in the application process and brainstorm enhancements to improve the applicant experience. Before wrapping up, you join a cross-departmental planning session to align strategies for scaling enrollment over the next two years. The day closes with a moment of reflection, reviewing progress toward your team’s goals and identifying tomorrow’s priorities to continue building a world-class recruitment and admissions operation.
